Wedding Videography vs Wedding Photography

Wedding videography and wedding photography are two different ways of capturing a couple’s wedding day. While both capture the essence of the wedding day, they differ in terms of the type of memories they create, the skills and equipment required, and the experience they offer. Here are some key differences between wedding videography and wedding photography:

  1. Type of Memories Created: Wedding photography captures still moments, while wedding videography captures movement and sound. Wedding photography is perfect for capturing posed portraits and candid moments, whereas wedding videography captures the ceremony, speeches, and first dance, as well as the emotions and atmosphere of the day.

  2. Skills and Equipment Required: Both wedding videographers and photographers require different skills and equipment. Wedding videographers need to be able to handle complex video equipment and have knowledge of lighting and sound. On the other hand, wedding photographers need to be able to capture the right shot in a split second and have the skills to edit photos afterwards.

  3. Experience: Both wedding videography and photography offer different experiences. Wedding photography is less obtrusive and allows for natural interaction between the couple and their guests. Wedding videography, on the other hand, involves more equipment and requires more direction, which can be more intrusive.

  4. Price: Wedding videography tends to be more expensive than wedding photography. This is because of the complexity of equipment and the extra time required for editing and producing the final product.

In conclusion, wedding videography and wedding photography are two different ways of capturing a couple’s wedding day. While wedding photography captures still moments, wedding videography captures movement and sound. Both require different skills, equipment, and offer different experiences. Ultimately, the choice between wedding videography and photography comes down to personal preference, budget, and the type of memories a couple wishes to create.

Choose The Right Wedding Videographer for Your Chicago Wedding!

If you're planning a wedding in Chicago, one of the most important decisions you'll make is choosing the right wedding videographer. Your wedding video will capture the memories of your special day for years to come, so it's important to choose a videographer who can capture the essence of your wedding and create a beautiful and timeless video. Here are some tips to help you choose the best wedding videographer for your Chicago summer wedding:

Look for Experience and Quality

When searching for a wedding videographer, look for someone who has experience in filming weddings, particularly in the Chicago area. Check out their portfolio to see the quality of their work, and pay attention to things like the lighting, sound, and editing. Look for a videographer who can capture the emotion and beauty of your wedding day in a cinematic and artistic way.

Read Reviews and Get Recommendations

Ask friends and family for recommendations, and read reviews from previous clients to get an idea of their experience with the videographer. You can also check out online wedding directories and social media pages to see what people are saying about different videographers.

Consider Their Style and Personality

Every videographer has their own unique style and personality, so it's important to choose someone whose style matches your vision for your wedding video. Do you want a more traditional, documentary-style video, or a cinematic and artistic film? Consider the videographer's personality as well, as you'll be spending a lot of time with them on your wedding day. Make sure you feel comfortable with them and that they have a positive attitude and good communication skills.

Discuss the Details

Before hiring a videographer, discuss the details of your wedding day with them. Make sure they understand your vision and expectations for the video, and ask them how they plan to capture the important moments of the day. Discuss the timeline for filming, the equipment they'll be using, and any other important details.

Compare Prices and Packages

Wedding videographers can vary greatly in price, so it's important to compare prices and packages before making a decision. Keep in mind that quality is more important than price, and that you'll likely only have one chance to capture the memories of your wedding day on film.

In conclusion, choosing the best wedding videographer for your Chicago summer wedding requires careful consideration of their experience, quality, style, personality, and pricing. With these tips in mind, you'll be able to find a videographer who can capture the essence of your wedding day and create a beautiful and timeless video that you'll cherish for years to come.

All followed with a portrait session your celebration deserves!

Small Celebration Weddings

In addition to the above, if you decide you are going to have a smaller reception, even at a different location, it still deserves to be captured, no matter how far from the original plan it goes.

Was Your Wedding Affected by COVID-19?

I am truly heartbroken for all of the couples that are being affected by this pandemic. This is not the wedding experience that you or anyone else signed up for, and we are doing everything that we can possibly do to help you through this. I have been working day and night to find a balance between accommodating all of our couples, and maintaining a sustainable business. My company means a lot to my family and I, It also play a big part in the livelihood of our talented crew, who have dedicated their lives to this business we created. So while we determine how we are going to get through this, l think it is important to know that we are in this together.

I thought it was important for customers to be aware about how we are handling this situation. For those that know me, they know that I started this wedding business because I enjoy the creativity and joy it brings out while covering such a special day. I have always put my customers first and will continue to do that during this stressful times.

Options For Your Booked Weddings

In this time of uncertainty, we are waiving cancellation fees for weddings affected by CDC guidelines and offering free “wedding day shoots” for weddings that have been canceled.

Rescheduling to 2020

We are rescheduling weddings for dates within same calendar year at no additional cost. This is dependent on your videographer’s availability and in cases a videographer needs to be substituted, we are making every effort we can to do so. With substituted videographers, pricing may vary but we will try and work out details to keep it inline with the original booking.

Rescheduling to 2021

For weddings that are being moved to the 2021 wedding season, we will have to apply a $100-200 fee , paid to your videographer to reflect their 2021 pricing.

  • $100: Friday and Sunday Weddings

  • $150: Saturday Dates Between 1/1-4/30 and 11/1-12/30

  • $200: Saturday Weddings Between May 1 and October 31

  • Holidays Weekends will be Handled Individually Pending Availability

That fee does come with a value. Like myself, all team members grow better with experience, upgraded equipment and an improved skillset. So the videographer you booked in 2020 will be a much improved version in 2021, which is reflected in their annual prices.

To lock in your new date, an additional $200 deposit will be needed, which will go towards your balance and reserve your new date.
